BOONE, Iowa—The Sleeping Angels Foundation annual collection of winterwear and canned goods will be held Saturday, 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Boone Fareway parking lot. The Sleeping Angels Foundation collects new and gently used winter coats, gloves, mittens, hats and boots. All sizes of winterwear are needed. The last couple of years, they have also collected canned food items to help stock food pantry shelves. All the donated items go to the Salvation Army and Impact Food Bank in Boone. The Salvation Army usually does their distribution of winter coats, hats gloves, mittens and boots in early November.
