Boone Early Childhood Center Groundbreaking

Posted on 22 October 2021 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—In March, the voters in Boone Community School District approved a $23 million referendum to construct, furnish and equip a new elementary school building and to improve the site. Today, the official groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction for the new Boone Early Childhood Center was held at the construction site, east of the intersection of Hancock Drive and South Jackson Street – 1805 Hancock Ave.

The building is slated to open for the 2023-24 school year. Students from Preschool to 1st Grade will attend the new building; it will replace the current Page and Lincoln Elementary Schools. School Board members, district staff, DLR Group, Lang Construction, ConStruct, Boone City Council Members, and Boone Chamber Members took part in the official groundbreaking.
