BOONE, Iowa—Carol Ann (Roskam) Reed passed away quietly on November 10, 2021 at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone, Iowa, after a long struggle with dementia.
Carol was born in California and adopted by Eugene and Ora Roskam as an infant. She grew up in California before moving to Iowa in 1992. She was always passionate about her family, especially her children. She loved being outdoors and she loved to fish, going at any opportunity. She loved the performing arts, especially dance and being on stage in local community theater productions. Her favorite performance was as Miss Maudie in a production “To Kill A Mocking Bird” at the Des Moines Playhouse.
Carol is survived by her husband Todd, daughters Megan (Kollin) Moore and Taylor (Cody) Roosa and Zander Reed. She also had three stepchildren, Holly (Joey) Banks, Abbie Reed and Scott Reed, and eight grandchildren, Kole and Piper Moore, Austyn, Zoey and Emma Banks, Caiden Reed, Addison Hinrichs and Maci Brown. Carol is also survived by her sister Sharon Roskam.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Ora Roskam and her first husband Keith Irvine.
The family would like to thank the Eastern Star Masonic Home for the loving care and attention they provided Carol during her time there. The Family would also like to thank Suncrest Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Carol in her last few weeks.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Boone Historical Society History Center. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your local community theatre. Carol was always happiest on stage and nothing would have brought her more joy than to know her loved ones were supporting their local theatres.
