BOONE, Iowa—A funeral arrangement has been set for 91 year old Doris Arlene (DeMouth) Wickman of Boone, Iowa. She died on Monday, November 22, 2021 at her home with her family by her side.
Doris was born the youngest child of Lester and Josephine (Brady) DeMouth on September 28, 1930 in Des Moines. She graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School in 1948.Doris was united in marriage with Robert J. Wickman on November 17, 1951 at Sacred Heart Church in Boone. From this union were five children, Mike, Max, Marty, Monica and Mary Jo.
Doris was an ambitious woman held various positions throughout her years. She retired from the DMACC Boone Campus Bookstore where she worked for 25 years.Doris was an active member at Sacred Heart Church in Boone. She was a member of the Altar Society, Holy Spirit Community, the Sacred Heart Choir, the funeral committee and made prayer shawls.
Doris was a loving mother and grandmother, but also a kind, giving friend to all. She would run errands and lend a hand for her neighbors and friends. She loved all and everyone loved her. Doris was a Cubs Baseball and Iowa Hawkeye Fan. She loved “her dog”, Wrigley, dearly.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob in 2008; and brothers, Wayne and Don. She is survived by her sons, Mike (Dian) Wickman and Max (Carla) Wickman, both of Boone and Marty (Vicki) Wickman of Wheat Ridge, CO; daughters, Monica (Kevin) Pearson and Mary Jo Wickman, both of Boone; 18 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister-in-law, Helen DeMouth Swaringer of Ankeny; along with nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Friday, November 26, 2021 at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Boone. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at the Church of the Sacred Heart. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Wickman Family for a memorial fund to be established at a later date.
