Minor Changes Proposed for Boone Precincts

Posted on 21 December 2021 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone City Council has set a public hearing on the proposed adjustments to the city’s voting precincts. The public hearing will be part of the Council Meeting on January 3rd. City staff worked with Boone County Auditor Diane Patrick and Boone County GIS Coordinator Penny Vossler. Vossler has said some adjustments due to population changes are needed. The proposed precincts have a population deviation of less than 2% according to Boone City Building Official Ed Higgins.  Higgins presented the proposed maps to the City Council Monday evening and noted that the adjustments would not affect and council members.
