OGDEN, Iowa—Sheryle E. Lester, 75, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Thursday afternoon, January 13, 2022, at the Bishop Drumm Retirement Center in Johnston, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Carson ~ Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden.  Pastor James “Buck” Buckhahn will officiate.  Visitation will also be Wednesday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service, at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden, followed by a luncheon at the McGraw Sr. Center.   For online obituaries & condolences visit: www.carsonstappfuneralhome.com

Sheryle Elaine Stevens was born on April 6, 1946, in Boone, Iowa, the daughter of Dean and Gladys (Steffens) Stevens.  She graduated with the Ogden High School class of 1964.

On January 20, 1968, Sheryle was united in marriage to Ronald “Butch” Lester in Sarpy County, Nebraska.  The couple lived in Rippey and Boone prior to establishing their home in Ogden.  Sheryle had worked at the Boone News Republican, 3M, and later did clerical work at CDS in Boone until retiring in 1999.

Sheryle and Butch loved traveling and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Ron “Butch” Lester Sr. of Ogden, IA; two daughters, Stacey (Roger) Monthei of Jewell, IA, and Julie (Tim) Perkins of Johnston; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Dean Alson Stevens Jr. of Ames, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Ronald Dean Lester, Jr., grandson, Zachary Robert Monthei, and two great-grandchildren, Darran Dasan Perkins and Allie Mae Elizabeth Smith.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
