BOONE, Iowa—Boone County Conservation and the Iowa Arboretum have collaborated to offer a couple Better Birders Workshops Sunday. The first will be a Common Feeder Birds presentation:
Join Expert birder Kelly McKay (BioEco Research and Monitoring Center), with assistance from Mark Roberts (Clinton County Conservation) and Brian Ritter (Nahant Marsh Education Center) for a presentation at the Iowa Arboretum, to learn about common feeder birds in central Iowa.
- These workshops encourage citizens to increase their bird identification skills and promote local citizen projects.
- The Building Better Birders Workshop is funded by the Resource Enhancement and Protection – Conservation Education Program (REAP – CEP)

Meet in the visitor center at the Iowa Arboretum. The arboretum has a great window for viewing birds at feeders.
What we need from you
We are encouraging pre-registration, so we can guarantee we have participants and enough equipment (binoculars/field guides) for the program.

The second will follow at the Arboretum Sunday, a Winter Bird Hike:
