Fareway Pledge for Rec Wellness Center Recognized

Posted on 11 February 2022 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—A week ago it was announced by Boone Mayor John Slight that Fareway Stores, Incorporated had pledged $2-million toward the proposed Recreational Wellness Center in downtown Boone. Thursday, Fareway CEO Reynolds Cramer presented a check representing that pledge to Boone officials. Cramer said the proposed project is a “must do project” which is why Fareway made it’s largest commitment to a community project ever.

The Boone City Council decided last year that any project would need voter approval and scheduled the Special Election for March 1st. The $10-million Bond Issue will need 60% voter approval.
