School District Reorganization Approved

BOONE, Iowa—The proposed reorganization of the Southeast Webster-Grand School District and the Prairie Valley School District has apparently gained voter approval. Boone County residents in the school district did not support the proposal, but it was overwhelmingly supported in Webster County.

Unofficial returns in Boone County had voters opposed to the reorganization with 125 no votes compared to 37 yes votes. Voters also opposed the proposed revenue purpose statement with 118 no votes and 42 yes votes.

Meanwhile, the unofficial returns in Webster County for Southeast Webster-Grand had 321 yes votes to 29 no votes. The revenue purpose statement was approved 319 yes votes to 20 no votes.

The Prairie Valley School District voters also overwhelmingly supported the reorganization with 348 yes votes to 11 no votes. The revenue statement was also approved 340 yes votes to 15 no votes.

All results are unofficial until canvased by Supervisors in Webster and Boone Counties.
