DES MOINES, Iowa—The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship has released the weekly fuel price report for Iowa. This week retail diesel prices in Iowa fell 4 cents with a statewide average of $4.72.
Crude Oil Summary- The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $18.16 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $114.33.
- Brent crude oil rose $22.44 and currently priced at $121.28.
- One year ago, WTI crude sold for $57.76 and Brent crude was at $59.96.
Motor Fuels
- As of Wednesday, March 23, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.87 across Iowa according to AAA.
- Prices fell 4 cents from last week’s price and $1.07 higher than one year ago.
- The national average on Wednesday was $4.24, down 7 cents from last week’s price.
- Retail diesel prices in Iowa were down 4 cents this week with a statewide average of $4.72.
- One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.12 in Iowa.
- The current Iowa diesel price is 32 cents less than the national average of $5.04.
- Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
- The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $3.02 for U87-E10, $3.37 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $3.83 for ULSD#2, $4.01 for ULSD#1, and $2.73 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Heating Fuels
- Propane prices were down 7 cents with a statewide average of $2.10 per gallon.
- Home heating oil prices were steady, with a statewide average of $4.10 per gallon.
- Natural gas prices rose 59 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $5.26/MMbtu.
