BOONE, Iowa—The Ames Economic Development Commission (AEDC) has entered into a contract of services with the Boone County Economic Growth Corporation (BCEGC).
With the addition of this new contract, the Ames Economic Development Commission will now play a role in strengthening the BCEGC organization while building stronger partnerships across Boone County and the Ames Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA).
Nate Nerem, President of the BCEGC explains, “We have just wrapped up our first three months in the partnership with the AEDC. We are pleased to build upon the City of Boone’s existing relationship with this team of development professionals. Working with our Executive Director, Mike Hammond, we have already been able to enhance our level of service to our existing Boone County stakeholders while broadening our marketing efforts.”
By terms in the contract, the Ames Economic Development Commission will provide organizational support and communication on behalf of the Boone Country Economic Growth Corporation. They will be responsible for handling the work of prospect proposals and visits, driving external marketing efforts for Boone County sites and buildings, and conducting research in support of the BCEGC organization. The contract also includes providing economic and community development services on behalf of the BCEGC to Madrid, Ogden, and the unincorporated areas of Boone County.
“We are excited to be working on behalf of the Boone County Economic Growth Corporation,” says Dan Culhane, President and CEO of the Ames Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Commission. “This rounds out the regional metropolitan statistical area which reflects the commuting patterns that move along Highway 30. This, coupled with a strong business community in Boone County, with potential to grow, the timing of our partnership could not be better.”
