DES MOINES, Iowa—The weekly report on fuel prices from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship today shows retail diesel prices in Iowa rose 10 cents with a statewide average of $4.82.
Crude Oil Summary- The price of global crude oil fell this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $6.24 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $108.09.
- Brent crude oil fell $7.06 and currently priced at $114.22.
- One year ago, WTI crude sold for $60.55 and Brent crude was at $63.28.
Motor Fuels
- As of Wednesday, March 30, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.89 across Iowa according to AAA.
- Prices rose 2 cents from last week’s price and $1.12 higher than one year ago.
- The national average on Wednesday was $4.24, steady from last week’s price.
- Retail diesel prices in Iowa were up 10 cents this week with a statewide average of $4.82.
- One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.07 in Iowa.
- The current Iowa diesel price is 30 cents less than the national average of $5.12.
- Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
- The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $2.79 for U87-E10, $3.18 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $3.71 for ULSD#2, $3.85 for ULSD#1, and $2.59 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Heating Fuels
- Propane prices were up 1 cent with a statewide average of $2.11 per gallon.
- Home heating oil prices were up 29 cents, with a statewide average of $4.39 per gallon.
- Natural gas prices rose 31 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $5.57/MMbtu.
