BOONE, Iowa—Rain this morning forced staff at the Ledges State Park to close the Canyon Road. A post was made on the Friends of the Ledges Facebook page to let the public know:
Mother Nature did not want us to celebrate too much at the park in this rainy Earth Day! Unfortunately park staff were forced to close the Canyon Drive to vehicle traffic this morning due to flash flooding of Pea’s Creek. With more rain forecast for the rest of the weekend, it may stay closed until next week. If you decide to venture in to the Canyon on foot this weekend, it is advised not to enter the swift moving stream. #EarthDay
