Boone County to Begin Seasonal Crack Sealing Next Week

BOONE, Iowa—County Engineer Scott Kruse has announced that seasonal maintenance on hard surfaced roads will begin next Monday, weather permitting. Each year, crack sealing is done to preserve hard surfaced roads and extend their life. The announcement was released Thursday afternoon:

Denco Highway Construction Corporation will begin crack sealing operations in Boone County on May 16th and will continue to crack seal as weather permits. The work will consist of sandblasting the existing cracks and adjacent pavement and sealing with a hot pour material. The sealant will be banded with a narrow squeegee to fill surface spalls and uneven areas. A pilot car and flagger setup will be used to navigate the construction zone. Please use caution and try to avoid the areas if at all possible. Boone County apologizes in advance for any delays that may occur. The list below is all the affected sections of roadway and the contractor should complete the work in that order.E-18 from Hwy 169 East to Juniper RoadE-26 from Hwy 17 East to R-38R-27 from E-52 South to E-57E-57 from R-27 East to Hwy 17Montana Road from the Boone Corporate Limits South and West to the Landfill.
