BOONE, Iowa—Thomas Flynn, 76, of Boone, Iowa, passed away at the Boone County Hospital in Boone on Thursday, August 25, 2022.

Thomas was born on August 17, 1946, in Sterling, Illinois, the son of Robert and Lillian (Russell) Flynn. On March 8, 1968, he married Patricia Riddles at the Church of God in Comanche, Oklahoma. Thomas was in the United States Army and served in Vietnam. He was a High School graduate and was mostly self-employed, owning Tom Flynn Lawn Care and Snow Removal. Thomas also worked in the church ministry and for security at a plant in Mr. Morris, Illinois. He was a member of the Open Bible Church in Boone.

Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Robert Flynn, and brother, Calvin Flynn.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; sons, Robert Flynn and Gregory Flynn; daughters, Kathy Flynn and Brenda Lingelbach; mother, Lillian Flynn; four brothers; two sisters; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at the Boone Open Bible Church, with Pastor Phil Waldo officiating. Interment at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, 34024 Veterans Memorial Drive, Adel, Iowa, 50003.
