BOONE, Iowa—Beverly Lois Roe went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on September 11, 2022.

Beverly was born on February 4, 1933, on a farm near Weldon, Iowa, to Coy and Mabel Roof. She graduated from Humeston High School in 1951 and worked at Bankers Life in Des Moines soon after. Beverly was united in marriage to Charles F. Roe on January 18, 1953, in Humeston, Iowa. Since Charles was still in the Navy, they moved to California. Upon completing his enlistment, they lived in Marshalltown, Iowa, for eight years, where their two children, Douglas and Brenda were born. Beverly and Charles spent their remaining years in Boone, Iowa, during which she enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom, working at local schools for their hot lunch programs, and she retired after 18 years of service working at Boone State Bank.

Beverly was a member of First Baptist Church and throughout the many years, enjoyed being a part of several church ministries. She belonged to the Squires & Dames Dance Club, Boone County Hospital Auxiliary, and a card club that met once a month. Beverly and Charles loved traveling with friends, either on their motorcycles, cruise ships, bus trips, or their annual short trips. Each year they enjoyed spending a day or two at the Iowa State Fair. Beverly poured out her heart to her family, especially her five grandchildren, always attending their grandparent’s days, sports games, and music events.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Charles Roe, her parents, her sister Phyllis Sponsler, an infant daughter, an infant brother, and twin infant granddaughters.

She is survived by two children: Douglas (Julie) Roe of Florida, and Brenda (Kirk Weaver) Roe-Weaver of West Des Moines; five grandchildren: Christopher Roe, Kate (Ben) Hatten, Emily Roe, Jonathan Weaver, and Luke Weaver; one great-grandchild, Lucia Hatten, and one sister, Jean (Chuck) Magley, Phoenix, AZ.
