BOONE, Iowa—Steve Gustafson, 75, of Boone, Iowa, passed away at his home in Boone on Sunday, October 9, 2022. Steve was born on February 9, 1947, in Boone, the son of Carl and Viola (Boderius) Gustafson. He
graduated from Boone High School, class of 1965.

On March 27, 1971, Steve married Jody Lawler in Ogden, Iowa. He was employed by Alliant Energy for 45 years until his retirement. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Boone. Steve enjoyed hobby farming for many years, snowmobiling, and fishing with friends in Okoboji and Canada.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Viola Gustafson, and his brother, Douglas Gustafson.

He is survived by his wife, Jody Gustafson; children, Matt (Jennifer) Gustafson and Jason (Sarah) Gustafson; grandchildren: Brady, Alli, Jordyn, Quinn, Blake, and Brooke; brother, Mark (Val) Gustafson; sister-in-law, Ann Gustafson, as well as several nephews, and a niece.

A Celebration of Life will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2022, at Cedar Pointe Golf Course in Boone. Private family graveside services will take place at a separate time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Boone A&M FFA Chapter at Boone High School.
