Overton Named President of ISAA

BOONE, Iowa—Paul Overton, Boone County Assessor, was sworn in as the President of the Iowa State Association of Assessors, ISAA, October 11th in Des Moines at the 75th Annual School of Instruction & Conference called by the Iowa Director of Revenue.  ISAA is comprised of 99 County and 7 City assessment jurisdictions in Iowa.

Overton is a graduate of Indian Hills Community College, Centerville and Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville.  He served in Wayne County as Deputy and Assessor for 11 years, as the Ames City Chief Deputy Assessor for 13 years and as the Boone County Assessor since 2012.

Overton is a member of the Institute of Iowa Certified Assessors and holds the Residential Evaluation Specialist designation from the International Association of Assessing Officers, IAAO.  He has also served as the Historian for ISAA since 2006.

Overton is the first assessor from Boone County to hold the Presidential position in the organization.  He plans to continue fostering communication between Assessors, the Department of Revenue, Legislators and local property owners during his tenure as President.
