Fire Department Stops Early Morning House Fire

BOONE, Iowa—An unidentified Boone Police Officer on patrol on the south side of Boone about 12:30 Tuesday morning, was the first to discover a house fire on South Story Street. The officer called in the fire and evacuated the residents from the house. Fire fighters reported that the fire was pretty much confined to the attic. The cause is under investigation, but is believed to be electrical in nature. The residents were displaced as of early Tuesday. Boone County property records list Phillip and Tracy Bloomquist as owners of the property.
