AMES, Iowa—Ames Police have reported an investigation into a shooting incident that occurred Saturday morning according to a press release from the Ames Police Department:

On January 14, 2023, at 11:26 a.m., the Ames Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at Quality Inn & Suites, 2601 E. 13th Street. Responding officers located two victims who are being treated at area hospitals. The status of the victims is currently unknown.

The Ames Police Department has one person in custody and continues to investigate the incident. There does not appear to be an ongoing threat to the public.
