BOONE, Iowa—The Annual Meeting for the Ledges State Park was held at the Boone City Hall Auditorium on Thursday evening. Staff from the Ledges took time to review the activities of 2022, talked about some of the plans for this year, 2023 and took a look at how many of this years activities will lead to the 100th Anniversary of the Ledges State Park in 2024. Many of those on had were part of the Friends of the Ledges and will be planning and working on developing activities for ’23 and the Centennial Year of 2024.
Part of the presentation includes recognition of the Volunteer of Year, which is awarded annually. This year, Andy Bartlett, Park Manager and Klint Peterson, Conservation Officer selected the President of the Friends of the Ledges group Rick Heldt as the recipient. They noted Heldt had a knack of bringing people together to facilitate successful projects for the Ledges State Park.
