Boone County, Iowa — Leaders from throughout Boone County have established the Boone County Community Foundation to help foster community based philanthropy throughout the county. The Boone County Community Foundation has received a $160,670 state award for countywide grantmaking and endowment building. The payment is a result of legislation (House File 2302) passed in 2004 by the Iowa General Assembly. $120,502 will be available for grantmaking in 2023 and $40,167 has been placed in the permanent endowment.
Any 501(c)(3), not-for-profit, 107b unit of government, or potentially qualifying charitable organization operating in or for the benefit of Boone County is invited to pursue grantmaking objectives and obtain an application from Boone County Community Foundation. The deadline for 2023 grant applications is February 3, 2023.
