DES MOINES, Iowa—The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship has released the weekly fuel report. The price of regular unleaded gasoline fell 3 cents, averaging $3.26 across Iowa according to AAA.
Crude Oil Summary
- The price of global crude oil fell this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $.10 per barrel and is currently priced at $78.11.
- Brent crude oil fell $.02 and is currently priced at $84.66.
- One year ago, WTI crude sold for $92.07 and Brent crude was at $98.43.
Motor Fuels
- As of Wednesday, February 15, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.26 across Iowa according to AAA.
- Prices fell 3 cents from last week’s price and are 5 cents lower than one year ago.
- The national average on Wednesday was $3.42, down 3 cents from last week’s price.
- Retail diesel prices in Iowa were down 7 cents this week with a statewide average of $4.14.
- One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.69 in Iowa.
- The current Iowa diesel price is 40 cents less than the national average of $4.54.
- Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
- The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $2.41 for U87-E10, $2.74 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $2.99 for ULSD#2, $3.54 for ULSD#1, and $2.36 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Heating Fuels
- Propane prices were steady with a statewide average of $1.94 per gallon.
- Home heating oil prices fell 4 cents, with a statewide average of $3.53 per gallon.
- Natural gas prices rose 8 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $2.52/MMbtu.
