DES MOINES, Iowa—Drought conditions across the state continued to improve in the past week. The U.S. Drought Monitor showed improvement, especially over the eastern part of the state since the end of February. Declines were reported in Abnormally Dry conditions and Moderate Drought conditions. There were little to no changes for Severe Drought, Extreme Drought or Exceptional Drought conditions. For Boone County, Moderate Drought conditions have virtually disappeared. Only a small corner in Northwest Boone County has Moderate Drought, otherwise Boone County remains Abnormally Dry.
