WASHINGTON, D.C.—This week, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) helped introduce the Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act of 2023 alongside his Midwestern colleagues Reps. Adrian Smith (R-NE) and Angie Craig (D-MN). This legislation allows for the year-round sale of ethanol blends higher than 10% – including E-15 – at gas stations nationwide permanently.
“E-15 is a low-cost, low-carbon alternative to standard gasoline that can lower gas prices for Iowa families, support Iowa’s corn growers, and make our country energy independent again,” said Rep. Feenstra. “I am proud to team up with my Midwestern colleagues to ensure that E-15 can be permanently sold 365 days a year at the gas pump and deliver relief for Iowa families. In Congress, I will continue to petition the Biden Administration to cut burdensome red tape and unleash the unlimited potential of year-round E-15 for our families, farmers, small businesses, and rural main streets.”
It is estimated that year-round access to E-15 would save American drivers $20.6 billion in annual fuel costs, support 188,000 new good-paying jobs, and generate $66.3 billion towards our GDP.
Iowa’s 4th Congressional District is the top ethanol-producing district in the nation.
