BOONE, Iowa—Boone voters selected Kyle Angstrom to fill a vacancy on the Boone City Council during Tuesday’s special election. The vacancy was created with the resignation of Steven Ray at the end of December. The City Council voted 5-1 to hold a special election to fill the position rather than appoint someone to fill the seat until the November election. Angstrom received 840 votes in Tuesday’s election, Deann Wood-Kluss had 355 votes, Patrick Shaw received 204 votes and Robert Alan Lay received 57 votes. The Boone County Supervisors are expected to canvas the election results later this week.
