DES MOINES, Iowa—The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship has released the weekly fuel report for Iowa. The price of regular unleaded gasoline fell 8 cents, averaging $3.47 across Iowa according to AAA.
Crude Oil Summary
- The price of global crude oil fell this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $4.83 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $74.65.
- Brent crude oil fell $5.41 and is currently priced at $78.03.
- One year ago, WTI crude sold for $102.02 and Brent crude was at $103.30.
Motor Fuels
- As of Thursday, April 27, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.47 across Iowa according to AAA.
- Prices fell 8 cents from last week’s price and 39 cents lower than one year ago.
- The national average on Thursday was $3.64, down 4 cents from last week’s price.
- Retail diesel prices in Iowa fell 4 cents this week with a statewide average of $3.91.
- One year ago, diesel prices averaged $4.86 in Iowa.
- The current Iowa diesel price is 25 cents less than the national average of $4.16.
- Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
- The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $2.36 for U87-E10, $2.77 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $2.78 for ULSD#2, $3.28 for ULSD#1, and $2.51 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Heating Fuels
- Natural gas prices rose 10 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $2.34/MMbtu.
- Continuing throughout the summer months, we will only report retail heating oil and propane prices in Iowa once a month.
