BOONE, Iowa—The updated U.S. Drought Monitor maps this week shows the heavy rain fall last week in Boone County did lead to an improvement in conditions locally. The area is still considered Abnormally Dry but has expanded. There are still some level of drought conditions in just over three quarters of the state.
