BOONE, Iowa—The Boone County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a two-vehicle accident that occurred at 4:30 Monday afternoon at the intersection of U.S. Highway 30 and “L” Avenue in Boone County.
Information from the Sheriff’s Department says that 24-year-old Christopher Bates of Scranton was traveling west on Highway 30 in a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado. He struck a 2006 Toyota Camry driven by a 16-year-old juvenile female from Ogden. The investigation indicates the Camry was traveling north through the intersection at “L” Avenue and Highway 30.
The juvenile female was in critical condition and was taken by ambulance to the Boone County Hospital and then was transported by air ambulance to another facility.
Bates was treated at the scene.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Boone Police Department, the Ogden Fire Department, Ogden First Responders, and Condon’s Tow Service.
