BOONE, Iowa—Linda A. Erickson,76, of Boone, passed away unexpectedly with her family by her side, Friday, December 15, 2023, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Linda was born May 11, 1947, the daughter of Robert and Agnes (Flynn) Cattanach, Sr. 

To meet Linda, was to love her and how special she made everyone she met feel.  She never let anyone leave her home empty handed.  Linda was a lover of all animals, but especially dogs. She had a large collection of anything owls, and was known to enjoy a Diet Pepsi while watching crime shows, her favorites were Criminal Minds and Bones.  Linda most of all cherished her time with her family and attending her grandchildren’s functions.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger Erickson; brother, Kent Cattanach and sister, Carol Cowan. 

Linda is survived by her children, Allen (Gretchen) York of Adel, Derek (Stacie) York of Granger, Jolene (Erik) McFarland of Boone and Janelle (fiancé, Seth Janssen) Needham of Ogden; nine grandchildren, Jared York, Hailey York, Sadie York, Blake York, Brice Peterson, Zach Needham, Samantha Needham, Riley Needham and Caitlin Needham; two brothers, Brent (Sandi) Cattanach of Appleton, WI and Robert (Julie) Cattanach, Jr. of Ames; sister, Sheila Gilliam of Seneca, SC; fur babies, Jazzy and Brooks; several grand fur babies; and numerous nieces and nephews.
