BOONE, Iowa—The first baby born in 2024 in the Family Birth Center at Boone County Hospital (BCH) was baby Ember Azaela who was born on January 2, 2024, at 3:07 p.m. She weighed 6 pounds, 12.5 ounces and was 17.75 inches long. Proud parents are Victoria Gordon and Cannion Bill. The delivering OB staff and providers from BCH put together two gift baskets for baby Ember and mom Victoria.
Items for Ember included: Little Miss or Mister New Year onesie, baby tub, diapers, wipes, diaper cream, hooded towel and washcloths, brush/comb, pacifiers, sleep gown and socks from the BCH Auxiliary, blankets, stuffed animals, swaddle wraps, bibs and burp rags, children’s books, toy and a teether.
Items for Victoria included: brush/hair ties/clips, Lotion, chocolates, snacks, relaxing face masks, Lysol wipes, $50 Walmart gift card, and $20 Target gift card.
