BOONE, Iowa—Gary L. Eslinger, 66, of Boone, passed away Monday, January 8, 2024, at the Boone County Hospital.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Gary was born January 31, 1957, the son of Ernest (Arlene) Eslinger, Sr.

Gary was a simple man and was known to be a cat whisperer, he would routinely leave for work at 1:00 A.M. so he could get himself a Mountain Dew and a coffee. He worked for Walters Sanitation for a number of years. Gary loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jim and Ernie.

Gary is survived by his five children, Daniel (Mollie) Eslinger of Boone, Lacy Kraft of St. Petersburg, FL, Julie Eslinger of Boone, Jennifer Eslinger of Orlando, FL and Ashley Eslinger of Ames; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
