DES MOINES, Iowa—The National Weather Service office in Des Moines has issued a Winter Weather Advisory from midnight Monday night to noon on Tuesday. Expected precipitation could affect travel Tuesday morning.

...Wintry Mix Southeast Ending this Morning...
...Additional Wintry Mix Expected Tonight into Tuesday Morning...

.Areas of light freezing rain were currently leading to some slick
roads in southeast Iowa early this morning and those conditions
should persist into the morning commute until the precipitation
ends later this morning.

Another system with more widespread and a bit heavier precipitation
will arrive later tonight into Tuesday morning. This messy wintry
mix may bring light snow or ice accumulations from southeast into
central Iowa with the potential for travel impacts, including the
Tuesday morning commute.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO
NOON CST TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations
  of up to one inch and ice accumulations of up to one tenth of
  an inch.

* WHERE...Much of central and southwest Iowa.

* WHEN...From midnight tonight to noon CST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
  conditions could impact the morning commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Confidence in ice and snow accumulations is
  lower from Des Moines north and west with areas of fog possible
  as well. Continue to monitor the forecast for adjustments as the
  event nears later today.
