BOONE, Iowa—Ann Stephens, 89, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, January 28th.
Visitation is from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday, February 12, 2024, at the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel, 1006 6th Street, Boone. A Memorial Service will be at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at a later date.
Ann was born in Ames to John R. Wilson and Josephine (Adams) Wilson on March 23,1934. She attended St. Cecilia School and a graduate of Ames High School. She married Roland “Rollie” Stephens on August 8,1951, in Ames. She was a member of Ascension Parish in Boone.
Ann enjoyed spending time with her family. Ann and Rollie hosted many family reunions. She also enjoyed gardening and making crafts, especially fleece tied blankets, which many families and friends have been recipients.
Ann worked for many years as a bookkeeper, Thompson Drug, Pamida Stores (over 20 years), Boone County Transportation, Van Voorhis Heating and Cooling, and Triple R Aggregates were lucky enough to have her booking skills in their companies!
Ann was preceded in death by her husband Rollie; brother, Dick Wilson; her parents; a great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Katherine Stephens (infant) and many loved family members.
She is survived by her 4 children, Dean (Jodi) Stephens, MarJean Fitzgerald, Rosie (Mike) Burdess, Ron (Sheri) Stephens; 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Rick (Liz) Stephens; numerous nephews and nieces; and her special companion dog, Pete.
