BOONE, Iowa—Dean Albright, 91, of Boone, passed away Monday, January 29, 2024, at the State Center Specialty Care Center in State Center.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, February 1, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church in Boone, 703 Arden Street, Boone, IA. Funeral service is 11:00 A.M., Friday, February 2, 2024, at the church. Burial will be in the Squire Boone Cemetery.
Dean was born June 26, 1932, in Hyndman, PA, the son of George and Esther (Thede) Albright. He attended school in Boone and graduated from Boone High School.
Dean served with the US Army in Korea. He was united in marriage to Vreela Collins on October 4, 1975, in Boone.
Dean was employed at Archway Cookies and retired from working at the Woodward State Hospital. He enjoyed hunting, traveling and was a talented woodworker.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Gretchen Vickery.
Dean is survived by his wife of 48 years, Vreela Albright of Boone; daughter Cindy (Kyle) Frame of Boone; two grandchildren, Cassidy (fiancé Bryce Helms) Frame and Cody (Jessica) Frame; and two great-grandchildren, Aaidyn and Blaire Helms.
