BOONE, Iowa—Funeral arrangements have now been set for Jerry V. Caswell, 82, of Boone, IA, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at the Boone County Hospital in Boone. He was born on December 17, 1941, in Lynn, Massachusetts, the son of Robert and Mildred (Gleason) Caswell. On August 7, 1965, Jerry married Suzanne Steffen at the First Methodist Church in Madison, WI.

Jerry attended Brandeis University in Waltham, MA where he majored in classics. He also attended the University of Wisconsin [Madison] and holds two master’s degrees and a Ph.D. He then worked at various university libraries in Wisconsin, North Carolina, Vermont and Iowa. Most recently he worked at the University of Northern Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Christie (Caswell) Moran.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Suzanne S. Caswell, and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Schroeder-Stark-Welin Funeral Home
