BOONE, Iowa—Drought conditions did not improve in the past week in the State of Iowa and locally in Boone County, conditions remained unchanged with the entire county considered to be in Severe Drought. Overall, the entire state now had nearly 85% in some form of drought with the largest increase in the past week in Moderate Drought Conditions. An area of Abnormally Dry conditions moved into that category in the past week. The largest category, Severe Drought affects over a third of the state and Extreme Drought is present in just over 20% of the state.
