Boone County Primary to Focus on Republican Supervisor Candidates

Posted on 26 March 2024 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—There are a half-dozen candidates seeking the Republican nod to move on to the General Election in November for the two seats on the Boone County Board of Supervisors. The official deadline to submit nominating papers was last Friday. At that time the list of Republican Supervisor candidates included Twila Ingham, Erich Kretzinger, Scott Longhorn, Evan Sinclair, Corey Stockman and Dave Youngren. Kretzinger is the lone incumbent on the primary ballot, Supervisor Bill Zinnel is not seeking re-election.

The Republican Primary ballot at the county level will also have Diane Patrick for County Auditor and Andrew Godzicki for Boone County Sheriff. Neither is facing any party challengers.

The Democratic Primary ballot will have only one name for Supervisor and that is Brian Reimers of Ogden. There are no Democratic candidates for Auditor or Sheriff. The Libertarian Party has no candidates listed for any county office.
