BOONE, Iowa—The drought conditions in Iowa saw a noticeable improvement in the past week. The report this week shows a decline in Extreme Drought in Iowa and lso Severe Drought. The northwest part of the state has a large area considered to be drought free at this time. Locally, several counties have shown improvement, including Boone, Greene, Guthrie, Dallas, Story and most of Hamilton County are now in Moderate Drought compared to Severe Drought which had been in place for several weeks.
