BOONE, Iowa—Mike D. Conyers, age 77, of Boone, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.

Visitation is from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel, 1006 6th Street, Boone, IA. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Thursday, April 18, 2024 at the Napier Community Church, 1595 Xenia Drive, Ames, IA 50014. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, east of Luther, with Military Honors by the Army National Guard and the Boone Veterans Council.

Mike was born September 15, 1946, in Boone, the son of Byron and Frances (Tripp) Conyers. He was united in marriage to Peggy Jeanne Heinrich on August 30, 1977, in Fort Dodge. To this union two daughters were born, Shay and Mollie.

Mike retired from John Deere after working there for over 30 years. He also retired from the Army National Guard. Mike belonged to the Moose Lodge in Boone and had bowled in numerous bowling leagues throughout the years. He was known to enjoy tinkering with things, but most of all, Mike loved spending time with his grandchildren and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Peggy in 2018.

Mike is survived by his two daughters, Shay Conyers of Boone and Mollie (Dan) Eslinger of Boone; eight grandchildren, Matthew Walker, Samantha (Bryce) Pritchard, Coltin (Karissa) Madden, Blythe Eversole, Skyler (Sierra) Eslinger, Jasmyn (Jake) Stairs, Brodi Eslinger and Hailee Eslinger; and ten great-grandchildren.
