BOONE, Iowa—May 1st signals the start of the Iowa State Park peak recreation season. For campers that means the rates on campsites will go up and there will be a 2-night minimum stay in effect for all weekend reservations including Friday and Saturday nights. The peak season lasts through October 15, 2024.
A new feature is that if a campsite goes unreserved on Friday evening, visitors may make a same-day reservation for that site on Saturday to salvage the last day of the weekend and utilize the site.
