DES MOINES, Iowa—The Iowa Environmental Council releases it’s weekly Water Watch and includes information from the Iowa DNR on test results on public beaches in Iowa. The report this week shows some beaches were not tested due to high water.
There are 3 beach advisories for the week of 5/31
3 Beaches with an E. coli Advisory:
Backbone Beach (Dundee, Delaware County, IA)*
Beed’s Lake Beach (Hampton, Franklin County, IA)*
Prairie Rose Beach (Harlan, Shelby County, IA)*
3 City and County Beaches exceed the state’s advisory threshold for E. coli.*

Note: George Wyth Beach was not tested this week due to park flooding. Oak Grove Beach at Saylorville Lake is closed due to high water.
