Weekly Water Watch, Only One State Beach with E. coli Advisory

DES MOINES, Iowa—The Iowa Environmental Council has released the information collected by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources from the State Park Beach Monitoring Program. There’s only one advisory for a state beach this weekend. Two city and county beaches have also received advisories.

There is 1 beach advisory for the week of 6/14

1 Beach with an E. coli Advisory:
Lower Pine Lake Beach (Eldora, Hardin County, IA)*

2 City and County Beaches exceed the state’s advisory threshold for E. coli.*

Note: Saylorville’s Oak Grove Beach is still closed due to high water. Monitoring has been suspended for the 2024 season at Lake Keomah due to renovation activities.
