BOONE, Iowa—Linda Louise (Handy) Mosman, went peacefully with her heavenly father on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, due to her longtime battle with R.A.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, June 24, 2024, at the Church of the Sacred Heart, 915 12th Street, Boone. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at the church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Boone.
Linda was born in Fremont, Nebraska, on April 25, 1959, to Walt and Carolyn (Vetter) Handy. Due to Walt’s job as a newspaper publisher, Linda had the opportunity to live in several different cities and states, Topeka, KS, Florence, AL, Alva, OK and eventually in Boone, IA. While in Boone, she met and married Jim Mosman and together they had a daughter, Lily.
Linda became a working mom and was employed by Allied Insurance Company, a factory software company – Cimetechnologies and eventually as a secretary at Iowa State University in the Animal Science Department.
Linda loved to read and has an extensive library of history and political books. She also enjoyed the theater and musical plays. In her high school years, she became 1st Chair Flautist. In addition, she loved to fish and spend time at the family cabin in Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her father, Walt and her mother, Carolyn.
Linda will be loved and remembered by her remaining family, Jim of Boone and daughter, Lily of Des Moines, along with many nieces, nephews and longtime friends.
The family asks that memorials be given to the Israel Family Hospice House, 400 South Dakota Ave., Ames, IA 50014.
