Boone Little League’s Intermediate All Stars faced Indiana in a Central Region Tournament match up Tuesday in Ankeny. Boone got on the scoreboard first in the second inning as Ryder Hilsabeck scored on a Colton Ross Sacrifice fly. Noah Gorman would retire the first 6 Indiana batters in order and Boone took a 1-0 lead into the 3rd.
In the 4th inning Issac McCloud would double off the center field fence and later score on an Owen Strabley RBI single to extend the Boone lead to 2-0. Indiana countered with 3 runs on 3 hits in the home half of the 4th to take a 3-2 lead.
Indiana would add a run in the 5th to make the score 4-2 after 5. Boone scored a run in the 6th but couldn’t rally in the 7th. Noah Gorman pitched a solid 5 plus innings for Boone but in the end Boone’s All Stars fell to Indiana 4-3.
Boone will take on Missouri today at 2:30 in an elimination game. The Central Region Tournament is being held at Prairie Ridge Sports Complex in Ankeny.
