Bronda Fay Johnson

BOONE, Iowa—Bronda Fay Johnson, 71, of Boone, Iowa passed away on July 15, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born in Decatur, Alabama on April 8, 1953, to James and Beatrice (McClendon) Henson. She attended school in the Waterloo area where she met the love of her life, Randy Johnson, and the two were married on July 17, 1970. The couple settled in Boone, Iowa and raised 3 children.

Bronda served as a CNA for 20 years and enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, and collecting porcelain dolls. She also loved the outdoors, teaching her kids and grandkids about gardening, collecting night-crawlers, and showing them how to fish and catch the “big ones.” Her favorite times were always spent with her family, and she brought a spark of joy and laughter to every room she entered.

Bronda is survived by her husband, Randy Johnson; sons Travis (Katie) Johnson and Chad (Amanda) Johnson; sister Darlene (Jesus) Cedillo; brothers Dan (Sue) Henson, Craig Henson and Bill (Louise) Henson; grandchildren Roman (Jeniffer) Verbeck, Chris Johnson, Treven (Macey) Timmerman, and Haddie Johnson; great-granddaughters Jamisin, Jazmin and Jordan Verbeck; and many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Eugene “Jim,” Jimmy Wayne, and Jeff Henson, sisters Ruby, Shirley, Barbara, and Peggy Henson, and her daughter, Jennifer Johnson.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Schroeder-Stark-Welin Funeral Home, 609 7th Street, Boone, with Rev. Adam Gordon officiating. Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Schroeder-Stark-Welin Funeral Home. Burial will take place at a later date in Rose Hill Cemetery, Boone, Iowa.

The Schroeder-Stark-Welin Funeral Home, 609 7th Street, Boone, Iowa is assisting the family with these arrangements.
