BOONE, Iowa—The Boone County Road Department has announced a slight delay in beginning a planned repair project on the Des Moines River Bridge on County Road E-57 or 270th Street. Originally the project was expected to begin last week but was delayed to this week and now is expected to start on Wednesday. It’s still expected to take three weeks to complete. Those who frequently used the bridge should be aware that a detour has been established using “L” Avenue west of the river, Quill Avenue east of the river and U.S. Highway 30.
