BOONE, Iowa—Casey’s General Stores has requested that Boone County rezone just under four acres of land on the southeast corner of U.S. Highway 30 and Highway 17 from agricultural to commercial to allow for the construction of another Casey’s location. The proposed site would have access off Highway 17 and would be located next to the property owned by Redeker’s Furniture. The area is identified in the Boone County Comprehensive Plan as a site for commercial development. The Boone County Zoning Commission this week recommended that the property be rezoned. The Supervisors will set three public hearings for the rezoning request.
