BOONE, Iowa—Nathan Earl Moeller, 42, of rural Boone, passed away unexpectedly at his home on August 26, 2024.

He was born in Story City, IA, on December 19, 1981, to parents Lyle Moeller and Nancy Ritland Moeller. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in rural Boone. He attended Trinity Lutheran School in Boone and graduated from South Hamilton High School in 2000. He was in the high school band and marching band, playing the trombone and baritone. He worked at CDS in Boone for many years in the mail-receiving department. He enjoyed computers, electronics, fishing, and hunting.

Nathan was preceded in death by his father, Lyle Moeller; maternal grandparents, Earl and Helen Ritland; paternal grandparents, Harold Moeller and Margaret Moeller Walker; step-grandfather, John Walker; and cousin, Eric Thomson.

Nathan is survived by his mother, Nancy Moeller of rural Boone; brother, Matthew (Johnna) Moeller of Ellsworth, IA; sister, Sara Moeller of Boone; brother, Brian Moeller of rural Boone; uncles, David Ritland of Minnesota and Roger Ritland of California; uncle and aunt Richard and Elaine Thomson of Altoona, IA; and cousins: Chris Thomson of Urbandale, IA, Scott (Katie) Thomson of Colorado, and Karen (Joe) Peterson of Ohio.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Boone County, with Pastor Michael Standfest officiating. Visitation with the family present will be from 12:30 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. in the St. Paul’s Fellowship Hall. Interment will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery following the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
