The Madrid volleyball team received its first victory of the season when it beat Cedar Valley Christian, 21-17, 17-21, 17-15, Thursday, Sept. 12 in Cedar Rapids.

Ogden could not secure a home-field advantage as the Bulldogs hosted Perry Friday, Sept. 13. The teams were tied, 6-6, at the half, but Perry scored 17 unanswered points in the second half to defeat Ogden, 23-6.  

Madrid began district play in Mount Ayr on Friday, Sept. 13, and easily defeated the Raiders, 28-0. Both teams are now 2-1 overall. 

It was a happy homecoming night in Boone as the Toreadors triumphed over the Des Moines Hoover Huskies, 56-0, on Friday, Sept. 13.
